The E1 series had started its service in 1994, it is the first double deck high speed train in the world. In 1991, the Tōhoku Shinkansen had extended it line to Tokyo station, connecting Tōkaidō Shinkansen and Jōetsu Shinkansen. It brings a great convince to the Japanese, more and more people uses these lines to go for work or school everyday. The E1 had been designed for carry large amounts of passenger in a time, it can carry 1235 passengers in a time. The train has the largest size of body in the world, with the height of 4.493m and 3.43m width, and the top speed of 240 km/h.
